It seems even though dye sublimation has been around for many years, the question is always asked by customers, what is it? The process know as dye sublimation was introduced in Europe over thirty years ago. We are able to offer two types of dye sublimation, Offset and digital. Both types of the process have a place depending on your needs and quantities.
The Dye Sublimation process starts out by using a specially coated paper that you will print your image on first. This can be done via a sheet (offset) or a roll (digital). Once you print what is a mirror image of your final piece of art it is then sent to either a rotary or flat bed heat press. This part of the process turns what looks to be a very dull colored image in usually less than 45 seconds into bright, rich, color, output on your product of choice. Through heat and pressure the dyes in the paper change into a gas and penetrate the product you have placed next to the paper. It will not fade, wash out or lose it's intensity, even after washing. In the case of our blanket it retains it fleece feel, thickness and warmth, while giving you a beautiful image.
The newest process to come along over the past several years, digital dye sublimation now offers the same high quality as offset with an additional bonus, low minimums. Our digital printers can turn out a breathtaking image on a blanket in minutes ready for transfer. You can have a custom tote bag or a decorative throw pillow like no other. We specialize in large format products up to 4 x 6 foot area rugs that will brighten up any child's room or give a welcome to your customers. Digital can also offer even larger sizes than offset, going up to as large as 97" wide.
Offset sublimation is made for the long, large runs over 1,000
pcs. It enables us to quickly print paper up to 12,000 sheets in an 8 hour
period.
We are also able to offer price breaks for larger quantities through
offset that we can't do in digital. There are setup fees (one time) for this
particular process that range from 1200.00 to 1800.00 per job. Offset gives us
the flexibility to help you meet your large quantities needs for your customers.
